Interview with German TV Movie magazine
I saw this on Twitter and wanted to share it here. What a great interview with Johnny, certainly better than that RS piece. Someone translated in the replies.

I think we are all somewhat screwy, every single one of us.

WOW! Many, many thanks, humiliatedgrape, for finding and posting this meticulous translation of a truly remarkable interview.
I laughed, cried, and ultimately came away more certain than ever that my trust and belief in Johnny’s honesty and decency has been well placed. Not a saint by any stretch, but surely a good and brave man. Would that those self-righteous, ignorant folks in glass houses could claim half as much.
Must go back and read it again . . . and again . . .

Wow. That is the best interview I've ever read -- real questions, real answers. Thank you, humiliatedgrape for finding and posting that.
The translation is here:; the same link that is in the Twitter thread -- just easier for non-Tweeters to find.
Thanks again -- I'm saving that interview.

It's just a relief to me that Johnny is not the "most exalted poser on stage"! Seriously though, it's nice to hear what the man himself has to say about some of these things.
"There is certainly a part of me that tends to be that loner. You never find me in the center of the crowd. I just like to stay back a little and hang in the shadows."

Thank you for the translation - I've read it several times - real questions and answers. I thought he dealt with the DV one perfectly - police and a judge mentioned. I'm glad he still believes in love though I feel sad he worries he won't recognise it or be able to hold onto it. Overall he comes across as thoughtful, intelligent and self aware but with a good dose of humour.

Excellent interview. The questions were objective and the interview respected JD when he asked that a particular line of questioning be focused elsewhere. This is the man we know and love.
