Johnny's lawyers want to try to show that AH gave the video to TMZ. When AH was on the stand she accidentally mentioned TMZ. Journalists are protected from being forced to reveal their sources.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I'm pretty fresh to this whole thing, like near the beginning of this court case. I felt up until a few days ago that Johnny would lose. At the beginning of this trial I did not think JD could win. I put him at two out of three here, even though you have to wade through the point about his alcohol and drugs, and okay, some 'brilliant' people are not brilliant in all ways. I’m sure Depp was no picnic.
It struck me as very significant that today, a studio executive at WB, the bigwig in charge of the DC film universe, testified *for Johnny Depp*. This is not like these expert witness hired guns, these barking seals, presenting themselves on retainer. He didn't have to get involved. No matter what he said, it hit me as throwing Amber under the bus, given that Aquaman is at WB. This guy is her boss, testifying for Johnny Depp!? One might think his testimony kept to fairly limited issues, though much of it was actually dismissing Amber Heard on this and that issue, for falsifying and exaggerating the politics behind the scenes, she was, according to her, almost fired, blah blah, and he confirms nothing she has said. I figure it can't be missed, that this is an actual Hollywood studio executive, her boss on aquaman, testifying against her, torpedoing her countersuit, not ever managing to praise her acting or her charm.

These lawyers say that there is something about VA law that only under certain circumstances they are protected. At least that's what I got out of it anyway.
Kate Moss is coming on now!

And now Kate is done. Only on a few minutes. She said there was an incident in Jamacia where she slipped on the stairs and JD carried her to the room and got medical attention for her. She testified that he never pushed her down any stairs, kicked or hurt her in any way. After that she was done. Defense had no questions. WAY TO GO KATE!!!

Johnny's lawyers did a good job of questioning Kate. The only focused on that one incident so that AH's lawyers could not bring in other things.ForeverYoung wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 9:36 amAnd now Kate is done. Only on a few minutes. TMZ lost on their emergency attempt to block the testimony of their ex-employee who got hold of the kitchen video.

He did testify to receiving an edited copy of the video and that TMZ didn't edit it.ForeverYoung wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 6:50 pmTMZ lost on their emergency attempt to block the testimony of their ex-employee who got hold of the kitchen video.

He also said that TMZ had exclusive rights to the video and slapped their watermark on it.
Claiming he received a link to the edited video, that it only took about 15 minutes to get exclusive rights and post it on their website.
He distinguished between getting an anonymous video that has to be verified and validated to taking longer to post as an exclusive but that it only takes about 15 minutes to post something when the source is known to own the content of the video.
He claims not to know the source of the video, but one has to assume someone at TMZ did to get it verified and posted so quickly.

If it wasn't her then it was someone in her group because she always has someone else to do her dirty work and blame it on them.SnoopyDances wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 7:00 pmHe did testify to receiving an edited copy of the video and that TMZ didn't edit it.ForeverYoung wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 6:50 pmTMZ lost on their emergency attempt to block the testimony of their ex-employee who got hold of the kitchen video.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
She took the video, on her iPad, therefore she is the copyright owner. She could have someone else do her dirty work, but she is still the copyright owner. If one of her 'friends' gave the video to TMZ without her express permission, TMZ wouldn't have been able to own (or purchase) the copyright.
So unless Amber sold the video to a friend who then sold it to TMZ (whether or not money was actually involved), it all comes back to Amber. And since it only took 15 minutes for TMZ to confirm the ownership of the video...I liked how the attorney just let that part hang there so the jury could put two and two together.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Watching Court TV right now and they're talking about those text messages that Johnny denied writing. Interesting though...
Text message supposedly from Johnny: 'Should I not just bust in and remove its hinges tonight???' the text read. Another text read, 'I want to change her understanding of what it is like to be thrashed about like a pleading Mackrel....I NEED. I WANT. I TAKE.'
Those words seemed rather familiar --

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I think in the end it was a pretty successful day for JD. Kate Moss testified that the ex lied on the stand and we have an expert who testified that her photos were edited. For me that's far more damaging than what he said in text messages.bringmethathorizon wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 8:40 pmHopefully the jury wii figure that one out !! Makes no difference to me whether or not he tried to get her fired from "Aquanet" because in the end she got to keep her job while he got fired from FB and my hope is that they will bring this up on closing arguments.

Oh and let's not forget the ex-employee from TMZ who testified they were tipped off that she would be at the courthouse and the pap would get a shot of her leaving the courthouse and a stop where she would show the alleged bruise on her face.ForeverYoung wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 9:58 pmI think in the end it was a pretty successful day for JD.
