So, I read this just now. Via an IFOD.net reel. It was the Jeanne du Barry ad and it said: September 29th in SELECTED US CINEMAS!!!!!!!! At the very end of the IFOD reel.

I need someone else to find and read what I just read at 11:15 AM Eastern Daylight Savings.

No confirmed date yet but Stephen Deuters did put up a tweet when someone else mentioned this and he said 'Watch this Space' so I guess it will be out over here at some point.

It's getting kind of close to September 29th at this point but can anyone find a list of theaters slated to show same? Usually theaters have a 'coming soon' list. Haven't seen Jeanne du Barry on any that I checked out. I wonder if it is going to be initially very limited as Minamata was? I was very lucky to be able to see that film given where I live. Any news on this front or predictions much appreciated. If I am going to have to plan to travel would like to be able to plan ahead.

I can't find it listed anywhere, either.
I suspect that it will be a very limited release to qualify for the Oscars, etc.; Probably it will be shown a few nights in LA or New York and then go to streaming/on demand.

It's a foreign language film with only one major US name attached to it (and studios aren't happy with that name); everyone else is French or European. I don't think it has a major distributor for the US and haven't heard of any release for Canada, which might be more accepting of the French language.

The big "French" movie they are pushing in movie trailers here is Napoleon with Joaquin Phoenix.

IFOD has compiled a list of release dates for theaters and rentals.

Now, I don't see any US or Canada dates.

I know!! I just hope they are not trying to dub it into English. Please, no!! I want to hear Johnny's wonderful voice speaking French.

I have been thinking about the language issue. "Parasite" certainly did well, winning Best Picture Oscar. And "Everything Everywhere All At Once" was successful, too, though that did have more English in it. If the film is spectacular, as many are claiming, it might do very well in the States (if the bias against Johnny can be overcome).

I have written the supposed distributor of Jeanne du Barry and never heard a word back. Others have told me the same thing. IFOD is saying that hopefully the film will be released by the end of year. What else were we expecting? Keep your fingers crossed that we actually are given the opportunity to see the film in theaters. Forever I have been worrying that this particular distributor, who has absolutely no track record of distributing the theaters will, in the end, release only as CD or the like. Here are their releases over the past year:
