Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Just to say it again, the people remain with Johnny - I have spent most of the day looking at Twitter and it is astonishing. Dan Wooten has posted a picture of him cuddled up to AH (sickening) and with the exception of one or two people every single comment (and presumably he's blocked a lot of people) is against him/her.
I hate conspiracy theories I think they make people sound stupid. We have no evidence the judge was corrupted and I don't want to be a person who throws out allegations without proof - leave that to the opposition.
But I am convinced there is so much conjecture etc in his judgement that it will simply have to be re-examined on grounds of consistency.
I hope our twitter lawyers and our very lovely Lbock are going to give us something to sink our teeth into tonight.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
At this point, other than the fact that the man has a history of dubious decisions and somehow believes saint Heard and believes her to be a good and pleasant person (lord) and completely dismisses anything on Johnny's side which is actual proof, what other explanation is there?
As some have said, Nicol's demeanor during the trial led many of us to believe he had no patience for her nonsense, so this is like a complete reversal even though we're not in his head.
The question is, how do appeals work? Same judge? Because if so, what's the point.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I have unknowns now
These are serious allegations and the judge has ruled that Johnny is a wife-beater. She can now reclaim her activist podium (well, pending VA)
Will he appeal? It’s not easy and I’m not sure he shouldn’t use another firm or different lawyer. But if he can’t overturn more than half of the judge’s decision it’s a waste
Will WB replace him. Or he step down. This is now very serious for a family movie franchise. Grindelwald is a shape shifter. They can bring in another actor. How does this play on a morals clause or insurance. Idk. Idk
How does this affect VA. Well going by the judge’s reasoning that jury members are reading all about it. Wow! Can he get a fair trial?
He can’t just walk away from VA as she is counter suing him!
So as of now he has to pay his lawyers and NGN legal fees. He’s having to pay some in VA. She won’t stop her lawsuit without legal fees and restoring her USA rights and credibility to speak out

This has to be eye opening for Johnny. I really hope he learned from his alcohol/drug abuse and where it got him with her. I would be heartbroken to hear he is continuing on this path after what he has endured with her.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I haven’t posted for a long time, but I’ve been reading the posts here and Instagram on a daily basis. I need to share my feelings with you here on the Zone because no one I know understands. I am truly devastated and heartbroken beyond words! I’ve been sick reading everything today! I have always believed in Johnny and stand by him and I still do, and always will! There are millions of us who feel the same way and Johnny does know that, I’m sure of that! But there are more haters and critics and ugly people who can definitely and will if they haven’t already, ruin his long obtruse career !!! He will forever have this label now and will be very hard to recover from. Robert Downy was rock bottom, but he’s had more years to build himself back. I would love to see Johnny go to treatment for drug/alcohol. I don’t mean any of this post to be negative , it’s how the world is now, I’ve been around 66 years and have never seen anything like it is now. I will stand by Johnny and do everything in my power to help him. Thank you all for continuing to do a fantastic job here, will hope and pray for the best!!

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Hey everyone,
I just created this account and I'm new to forums, so please forgive me if I do things wrong. I followed the case since February 2020 (reading on twitter) and I'm devastated by todays verdict.
I'm partly through with reading the verdict and I have to agree with LBock on it. Its a very hard read and it will take a lot to oppose every decision the judge took. The judge saw contradicting evidence on JD's side and gave AH credit for her claims because she tied them to his substance abuse which he admitted to.
The general public will likely believe the ruling which makes this verdict today so hard to swallow. In my opinion there is no other way than to appeal to it and take it to the bitter end. I plan to sink my teeth into every word of the verdict, because I believe in justice and truth and can't furthermore believe that JD has done anything he is being accused of.
All the Love.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I don't know about the UK but in the US an appeal means going to a higher court and it would be a different judge. I can't believe the mind thinking Nicol did. He believed her when there was no proof of things and his reasoning was poor, in my opinion. She used Johnny's blackouts as a tool and the judge fell for it.
As for future work, I think he will be fine. Johnny has a huge support fan base and it's even stronger now. In my opinion, he was going to be labeled as a wife beater no matter what the outcome was. Her allegations will show up in every article forever even if he had won because the media loves to trash him. He is loved and respected in the business. Grindenwald has already started filming and he has signed on to be executive producer of a TV series. He is winning awards and that is not going to change.
We all heard the tapes and saw parts of the depositions so even those with no knowledge before now see what kind of a person Amber Heard is. She is now exposed and is blacklisted in Hollywood.

If you mean Muscle Shoals, I think that is long dead in the water.ForeverYoung wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 7:55 pmhe has signed on to be executive producer of a TV series.
Emmy-nominated Bettina Gilois (Bessie) is writing the drama based on Hall’s life as chronicled in his autobiography The Man from Muscle Shoals: My Journey from Shame to Fame and the acclaimed Sundance documentary Muscle Shoals.

Before her death, Gilois had several projects in the works, including the drama “Shutter Spy,” about Hollywood photographer Frank Worth, and the series “Muscle Shoals,” which is produced by Johnny Depp. She was also writing a story for Lifetime about Mahalia Jackson, and Netflix’s “A Million Miles Away,” a true story about Jose Hernandez, a migrant worker who later became an astronaut.

Ok, thanks but I don't believe the verdict will affect FB3 or any future jobs for the reasons I stated above. If there was a connection between the judge and Jennifer Robinson, the judge should have recused himelf from the case from the very beginning because that would be a conflict.

Hey,
out of curiosity: why didn't Sherborne made the statement today as he was the "leading lawyer" in the UK case?

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I woke up this morning to the above post and have been in a daze since. Lbock’s “unknowns post” below is the most frightening - and, unfortunately, realistic - appraisal so far.
Beyond anything, I am hoping Johnny is finding a way to keep moving forward, that he will never “abandon himself”, and that he does not for a moment doubt our ability to see through that agenda-driven, bias-riddled farce of a “decision”. What an embarrassment to the revered High Court!Lbock wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 3:17 pmI have unknowns now

I don’t know where I last saw this but it seems appropriate to resurrect it now:

Surely Johnny is not alone, surely this wrong will not - cannot - triumph. If positive energy is all we have to offer right now, let us send it Johnny’s way with every thought we have and with every breath we take - and, with every insightful kernel of truth referenced by “good men” left, right, and sideways on the more than 345 pages of this thread alone.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Welcome to someareborn. So good to have new supporters.
Can’t sleep I am so enraged. For those who have been here a long time is this worse than May 2016?
Everything feels so terrible now and my biggest worry is how is he coping? There will be a hive of activity going on with the lawyers as they pull together the argument for appeal. I hope we get some clear guidance soon on whether this will be successful or has a chance.
David Sherborne didn’t speak to answer an earlier question because the barristers only do the court work the solicitor firm in this case Schillings speak for the client.
I said earlier I didn’t want to join in with attacking the judge but re reading what he has written I just find myself lost for words. How he cannot balance her credibility and take account of her repeated incidents of lying is staggering. There Is a shocking bias and it’s very clear the judge disliked the drug taking. And he disliked JD not always remembering when he was drinking or taking drugs. But to take that dismiss other evidence is just painful. I am heartsick. This is so outrageously wrong.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
To quote JD's UK atty Jenny Afia, the decision was "bewildering." The judge apparently is married to a woman's activist attorney and he has the link to Heard's attorney Robinson, as referenced above by ForeverYoung.ForeverYoung wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 8:07 pmIf there was a connection between the judge and Jennifer Robinson, the judge should have recused himelf from the case from the very beginning because that would be a conflict.
This is an appalling example of the judge's shallow reasoning:
“She was, according to this scenario, nothing more than a gold-digger,” Justice Nicol wrote in his ruling. “I do not accept this characterization of Ms. Heard,” pointing out she had claimed to have given all of her $7 million divorce settlement to charity. adding “Her donation is hardly the act one would expect of a gold-digger.”
We know Amber is trying to quash exposure of the records of her donations, no doubt because she's hiding something; didn't the judge?
Some wonder if Nicol was pressured and/or bought off by Murdoch, Elon Musk, MeToo, ACLU or a combination. Or perhaps the case was such a political hot potato that the judge wrote a PC-friendly decision but "...so flawed that it would be ridiculous for Mr Depp not to appeal this decision.” I've been ragging on the judge all day, but maybe he got angry at all the pressure brought to bear on him &, while giving in to pressure by finding for the baddies, wrote a ridiculous decision bound to be overturned on appeal? He's either senile, corrupt or brilliant.
Appeal will go to a higher court & judge. Anyone know when that trial would happen?
