David Bowie's Top 100 Favorite Books

Unread post by Liz » Tue Jan 12, 2016 1:19 am

Another book lover. Johnny and David have one in common on this list, if my memory serves me right.

You can't judge a book by its cover.

The only thing that matters is the ending. It's the most important part of the story.

I see On The Road and the Master & Margarita, but that's a very fast take as I should be walking out the door to get to work. Book lists are lots of fun. Thanks Liz!

You two are better at skimming than I am. I've never been good at it. Whenever I do, I get in trouble. :dunce:

I remember reading On the road by Kerouac when I was 12. Just because I read he's one of Bowie's favourite writers. Didn't like it then, but re-read it a few years ago and love it now.
I also read "Das Schwert und die Puppe" by Laurens van der Post. Don't know the English title, but the movie "Furyo - Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence" with David Bowie was based on it.
And there are also two other books on his list I would mention on mine: Last Exit to Brooklyn by H. Selby and A Clockwork Orange by A. Burgess.
