Well I've been through several airports in several countries since lockdown eased, and he's loud and proud in all of them - a couple even had his voice doing the "par-fam" ..... delicious.

So glad to “hear” you say that, AdeleAgain. But then what do you make of this ad? It seemed like such a low blow, and fast on the heels of the mixed reviews for WFTB.

Do you suppose Dior (or other vested interests) may be trying to get a sense of what it might take to ease JD out of SAUVAGE promotions (and who knows what else?) going forward? It made me simultaneously angry, sad, and defensive. I was hoping Dior was solidly in Johnny’s corner. Perhaps there is just way too much time until January, 2021, for the marketing hounds from fragrances to films, to not consider reinventing the wheel - or, at least, to finding a road to (continued) success that is less fraught with potholes.

Dior got slammed pretty hard for the ad that never aired.

They had a vision for that ad campaign and were building it slowly. But it backfired.

Now, it looks like they decided to go in a different direction. It’s not unusual for fragrances to change models/actors for a new campaign.

Or, perhaps Johnny’s contract was up and one or both sides decided not to renew.

Or a combination of both.

This looks like they are trying to appeal to younger consumers. I don't think it would be that odd to change campaigns, but the timing makes it look more important than it really is.

It is Fathers Day in 9 days in Australia.
The past few years, I have seen Sauvage ads at this time of year. I haven't seen any TV ads but I did see a couple of bus stop posters.

Has everything just gone onto this thread - I was trying to find a Dior thread but can't. Anyway it was just to say - Johnny is all over London again. They've got a big campaign, alternating pictures of Johnny and Charlize Theron. Wonderful and very cheering to see.
