June 4th Birthday Project Update--we have reached $6,000! Hurray!

Unread post by part-time poet » Tue Jun 04, 2013 6:12 pm

Here's a quick update on our 2013 Birthday Project fundraising . . .

the Zone has now received more than $6,000 in donations for Project Pueblo!

That's wonderful! :loveshower: Thank you so much to all our donors. :bouquet:

We have now collected enough money to provide water systems for four Navajo families (cost approximately $1,500)! That's fantastic! We have five days left to collect donations, so with your help we could match our effort of last year, and give five Navajo families clean water to drink. That's the gift of life itself.

:worldhug: and :highfive: to everyone who has contributed to this project. Your generosity is truly inspiring.

Johnny's birthday is Sunday--let's send him our best wishes in a way that reflects his own generous heart.

How wonderful!

I am thinking of all the work Johnny has done to immerse himself in Native American culture, both to hone his performance in TLR, and perhaps to rediscover his own Native American roots.

I am thinking of all his tireless work to deflect the spotlight away from himself and instead turn it toward and bring attention to the needs of the Native American Community.

I am thinking this year's gift, along with the gift from last year for same project will really touch him.

I am thinking that this gift will mean more to him than all the treasure in Tortuga!!

It's not over, but I want to thank PtP, Theresa, Joni and Sleepy, for again putting this wonderful project together.

You ladies deserve a great big hug!!! :grouphug:

And a bit of rum, I be thinking!!! :toastingpirates:

This is indeed VERY exciting. I was crossing my fingers very, very tightly there for several days. I know how much these water systems mean to folks, and I just wanted us to do every thing we could. And we are! This is fabulous. Brought a tear to my eye even. :cloud9:

I am so proud to be a part of this wonderful effort. We are pushing ourselves hard to do more than we think we can. And it shows, beautifully. We are a "go to" group, you know that? We know how to make things happen. :smiliewithhearts:

When the project was first announced I posted a Image but now I think that Image is more apt. All the zoners gave the money and now it's been collected and what a total it is. :applause2:

This is such great news, thanks for the update PtP. Amazing what can be achieved in such a short amount of time but we still have 5 days to go so I'm really hoping we can gather enough cash together to pay for one more water system, how cool would that be. :cloud9:

Yes, it will definitely help, and Zoners have done a great job so far.

It would be great if we could help another family . . . and we still have five days (well, four and a few hours) left to give.

Check under the sofa cushions and see if you can find some spare change . . . pooled with the other gifts, it will add up nicely!

Thanks so much to all our donors--you are fabulous, one and all!

What a great cause and what a great way to celebrate Johnny's big 5-0!! Glad to be a part of all of this! I just added a little more to my donation, hoping every little bit helps us get as much as possible, so we can help as many as we can. I love being a part of this every year. :)
