Birthday Project Update--we've passed $2,500! Hurray!

Unread post by part-time poet » Wed May 22, 2013 1:04 pm

Here's a quick update on our 2013 Birthday Project fundraising . . .

the Zone has now received more than $2,500 in donations for Project Pueblo!

That's wonderful! :loveshower: Thank you so much to all our donors. :bouquet:

We have now collected enough money to provide a water system for a Navajo family (cost approximately $1,500), and we are close to a providing a second one! It would be great if we could reach $3,000 this weekend, and help another family. Remember, every gift helps get us to that goal!

:worldhug: and :highfive: to everyone who has contributed to this project. You are a great inspiration, showing what we can do when we work together.

We got to keep working it.
Get the message out there to others.
Now with the current crisis in Oklahoma it may be difficult to deny a donation to this cause. But any donation at this point is for a good purpose.
So many in need.

Very happy to know it is now at $2500. Horray :loveshower:
What is that? It is a Terrible Towel ,Chuckle A Terrible Towel?, Yes it is a Terrible Towel for you and your son. Over this left shoulder it went. Never to be seen or heard from again. I am always so misunderstood.

This is inspiring news PtP, whenever we get updates of how things are progressing it just motivates everyone to keep donating.

That's the idea, ITD!

The opposite of "out of sight, out of mind" . . . we want to keep the Birthday Project on Zoner's minds, just in case someone might find an extra dollar or two to donate on impulse.

When you purchase a water bottle for yourself, to quench your thirst, remember our Navajo families who have no water, and donate the cost of a water bottle or two . . . those donations add up! :ok:

And thanks again to everyone who has donated to Project Pueblo.

:yikes: Only two more weeks left!

What's the new total? Are we at two water systems yet?
Didn't we get 7 done last year?

We've got a long way to go....

No we didn't get 7 last year, we amassed $8000 which is 4 water systems. It would be great to achieve enough money for 7 but I don't think anyone here has a bank account that rivals Donald Trump's. :rotflmao:

That's what I meant...$7000...It would be great if we could match that this year! :ok:

We know for sure that our money helped five families last year. They were able to stretch our money a little further last year because some of the families had been able to gather some of the parts necessary before the volunteers got there to build the systems.

Another family was helped this spring with a new water system, but I don't know if that was part of the Zone's donations, or if it was part of Johnny's donation. :heart2:

See pics of the families, here:
