Wonderful news for the Zone! A thank-you letter from Johnny Depp!

It's funny, but the plight of the Native Americans is one that sadly seems ignored by the rest of the world - there are a lot of charities raising cash for very worthy causes in the third world but many people have no idea of the poverty experienced by so many Native Americans.
It's good to see that a major star like Johnny is making it public; we should all help the less fortunate all over the world, but let's not forget hardship is often right by our doors.

I want to say thank you everyone that put forth any and all effort into this project this year.
I am saddened by the fact that I was born and raised here and had no clue of what the Native Americans of this country go through on a daily basis.
I have not, since being made aware, gone a day without thinking about the precious things that I have taken for granted.
This years project has opened my eyes to something I have otherwise been blind to. For that I want to say Thank You.
While my contribution was in no way as much as I would have liked it to be, it has shown me that even one small drop can make a ripple, and when we stand together, we can make a wave.

The letter from Johnny is a special treat, thank you for sharing it.
I have to say that I am proud to be apart of something that is so much bigger than I ever thought.

I also have to say that this entire project has had me in tears, in awe, excited, and humbled.

I am undone and beyond words, I truely got tears in my eyes reading that letter from Johnny. I tell my family and friends what we all do here on The Zone each year in honor of Johnny's birthday and they just can't believe it and are actually shocked. I am not shocked at all, I am very proud to be a part of this amazing organization and equally as proud to be a "boss" of Johnny Depp. Thank you Johnny for taking time out of your hectic schedule to acknowledge all of us here on the Zone and thank you Theresa and ptp.

I simply thought it was beautiful that you all got together and celebrated his birthday by donating to something he believes in!

As always Johnny's kind warmheartedness, never ceases to amaze; he always makes me proud to be a fan.

I'm also so proud of everyone here at the Zone who because of our shared admiration for Johnny each year gives a deserving charity a birthday gift on his behalf. To PTP, Theresa, sleepy and all our mods and admins thank you again for making the Zone such a great place and for taking the time each year to spearhead the JD Birthday charity drive. Thank you to every one of you for participating and again making it possible to help people in need.

One more thing, I was feeling a little bit UGGGGH! today, but this has brightened me up considerably; so thank you all and Johnny for that too.

I am speechless and teary been teary for a day or so. I absolutely adore Mr. Depp he is certainly one of a kind and I wish him all the happiness in the world.

Having lived on the Navajo reservation for some months and travelled to many areas of the Navajo nation, I know firsthand how desperately poor some of the people are. That is why I was pleased and thankful for the opportunity the Johnny Birthday Project gave me to contribute to helping the Navajo in a small way.

It is so lovely of Johnny to always appreciate our efforts to help worthy causes in honor of his birthday and I can understand why this year it meant something special to him.

I never cease to be proud that I am one of his fans - and a member of the Zone!
