Exclusive US trailer:

It mentions a post-screening conversation with Johnny. Not sure if that's for all screenings or just the US premier.

The film will be in French with subtitles. They are still securing theater locations in the U.S.

I am pretty sure no matter what sites are chosen I will have to wait for a DVD release.

Looks like it will only be in US theaters from May 2-6. Check local Marcus or Regal Cinema locations near you. :soda:

Having great difficulty purchasing a ticket. I am concerned, given only one performance a day and only four days and a small number of theaters given the size of the country, the tickets are gone already. This reminds me of Minamata. Which was equally abusive of fans. Is it Hollywood? Don't people wish to make money. I would have seen in several times, not one.

Why such a short block of time? I live in an area where French language films run all the time for weeks. Is there the assumption that some really small number of crazy fans want to see this film? Man, I wish the forces doing the negotiations would have been very clear to fans what the likelihood of this working would be. What the anticipated limits would be.

I got my ticket!!! Through AMC in Maryland. I had to register an account with the theater but it went well. I am so excited. Frankly, I didn't think this would happen for me. But it did! Hope others are trying and succeeding also.

I've just seen it. Stunning. Absolutely beautifully shot, glorious scenes, costumes etc. JD is wonderful as the king - he changes subtly through the film, gets a bit older, a little bit fatter. It's unlike any other role I've seen him in. Maiwen is also wonderful - funny, sweet but it's all made very believable as to why she would become his favourite. Great supporting cast - the king's daughters haven't been given much attention but they have two of them as sort of ugly sisters from Cinderella.

Audience in London was split between French viewers and overt JD supporters (quite a bit of Hollywood Vampires apparel!). According to the French family next to me his French was "very, very good". He doesn't actually say too much - there is one scene where he says absolutely nothing just storms in to face down his family without uttering a word.

It's all beautiful and wonderful through out but then terribly sad at the end. I'm going again with some other friends next week.

Well, that is an interesting article. I guess the writer really wanted to be noticed, to be read. Obviously none of us know how positive or negative the relationship between Maiwenn and Johnny is. I do know that he seemed to have a tight hold on her hand at the UK premiere, glad she was there. It really has to be difficult to read about what you may have or may not done, or felt, or thought. The joys of anonymity are many.

And thank you very much Ingrid, for posting the article.

So, very good news!! I thought there was something wrong with that article posted a day or so ago. It just didn't describe the guy we've known for years. In addition, when Maiwenn and Johnny were at the UK premiere they looked perfectly happy -- friends!

In any case I don't have something I can bring here, but I can type what I am reading in Instagram:

@maiwennofficial and @variety setting the record straight. (FULL ARTICLE ON VARIETY.COM)

Maiwenn Feels "Betrayed" by Interview About Johnny Depp, Clarifies Comment About Depp Scaring the Crew: He is 'One of the Greatest' Actors (EXCLUSIVE)
Again, I want to be very clear: Johnny is a huge actor. One of the greatest. He reminded me a lot of Brando - his genius and sufferings, his generosity and paradoxes. Even though we argued several times on set, he's someone I totally respect and admire, and it's important for me to correct my own narrative because I feel really betrayed by this interview with Charlotte O'Sullivan.

I found this on Instagram via depp_head4ever. Below, one comment indicated "And that's how MSM distorts the truth and takes things out of context to increase viewership."
