Thank you so much, ForeverYoung, for the Wallis link, and of course many thanks to Mr. Wallis, himself. Started reading. So well done and easy to read, though it’ll take an eternity given the holiday week ahead.

I’m almost afraid to have positive thoughts anymore, but this summarization of the Appeal papers sure offers solid hope that maybe “Justice for Johnny Depp” will prevail this time around.

I had a delicious thought when I woke up this morning - that NGN's nasty bully lawyers may need to work over Christmas now. I'm sorry for the poor juniors who have no choice but not for those who decided to have NGN as clients.

Welcome Polly17+, I'm pretty new here myself :)

Merry Xmas everyone, and didn't Nic Wallis give us a present and a half? That appeal submission was a real scorched-earth, take-no-prisoners document (imo).

Each challenge made provided multiple grounds - legal references, internal contradictions in evidence and their treatment by the judge. Instances where the judge smoothed over or improved Amber's testimony and created his own evidence to explain flaws and gaps in Amber's fiction. And then there was the total disregard of sworn testimony by the LAPD and medical professionals. Rejection of candid, damning and consensually recorded evidence and accepting Amber's sworn statements totally contradicting the unsworn statements and all other evidence and testimony to the contrary.

Then there was the legal argument regarding the unchallenged, subpoenaed testimony of the LAPD that elevated their statements to evidence from hearsay (that was then ignored)............

I've got my Sauvage under the tree :)

My goodness i hope he gets the permission and his appeal. A new trial and he can bring in new evidence like the donations and Jennifer Howell and anything they are collecting in VA

Just finished reading Johnny 's request for a retrial and enjoyed it very much. Here's hoping 2021 brings Johnny the justice he deserves.
Happy Christmas everyone, all the best xxx :airkiss:

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you and your loved ones are happy and healthy. :namaste:

The skeleton is beautifully written and points out all the flaws of the judgement. The possibility of a re-trial alone should at least put a dent in the beliefs MSM Media is spreading...
Does a re-trial mean another 15 days in court? Or can another judge just go through the bundles and the transcripts?

And again, nothing but respect for JD to face all this. I don't know how he finds the strength.
May 2021 give some healing for us all.

If he were to get granted a re-trial (and that's a long shot, imo) it should go back to the lower court and done all over again. Let's just hope it wouldn't be before Judge Nicol a second time. I doubt it would but considering they let Nicol consider the appeal I guess anything is possible.

Agree the overall permission to appeal is a long shot. Very difficult

Thank you, Lbock, for the links to the actual submissions for the Grounds of Appeal and the Skeleton Argument (the Application for Permission to Appeal). I read Mr. Wallis’ summarizations first - and was grateful for them - but, I have to say, I couldn’t put the real things down.

Someareborn said the Skeleton was beautifully written and I have to agree. Not for language per se but for structure: how well everything was laid out, how logically it all flowed, and how brilliantly the truth could hold its own when properly presented. This is certainly a take-no-prisoners Argument, as it should be.

It chills me to the bone, then, to read how fragile the Argument is in the light of day. If I hadn’t read Nicol’s disgraceful rendering of a High Court judgement myself, I might be skeptical of the need to go so far. But, I HAVE read the judgement. I HAVE been sickened by the cruel, unforgivable bias and injustice that riddles every page. The court system is so seriously corrupt we are warned again and again, not only that WINNING an appeal is as rare as the proverbial two dollar bill, but just being granted PERMISSION to appeal is a “long shot”.

Johnny’s “Goliath” has many heads and they control many strings. They are powerful and, I believe, potentially dangerous. I do understand why Johnny will never quit until his truth is acknowledged as the truth. I support and honor his, now, very visceral need to persevere. And I will continue to pray for him, arrogantly (I admit) embellishing my requests and pushing the envelope a bit more each day. Above all, I hope he is well and with those he loves and love him.

This is an interview in Extra.ie by Jenny Friel about Victoria Mary Clarke. The article is mostly about her husband but they also talk about Johnny:
"I utterly believe him’ — Victoria Mary Clarke defends friend Johnny Depp"
She says that she knows Johnny's history, that she knows his mother beat him up a lot, very badly and that he is attracted to women who are violent and he can’t help it. He tries to run away from people, rather than engage with them.
She talks about the court case, adding that if it had just been him and he didn’t have children, she thinks he would have let it go. But the fact that his kids were being harassed about it, and young enough to be impressionable, it was really difficult for them.
All in all, a lovely little interview.
