It is simply unbelievable - the judge has just taken what she said at face value from what I've read.

I hope they make a statement very soon saying they will appeal. OF course I am not an expert but this is not where I understood the balance on libel to stand. The Sun relied on AH's evidence - so the fact that AH was repeatedly shown to have lied (Australia dogs etc) means nothing?

And the treatment of Kate James.

And this should calm you down. This guy is very knowledgeable. This is his initial, very quick read out.

I think the thing which is going to get people howling is saying that AH is not a gold digger. Come on.

Said it before and will say it again - thank god for the emergence of those tapes because that's what people remember. I'm currently in an office of about 40 people - not one single person can believe the verdict, and many of them work in legal cases.

Johnny has 21 days to submit for permission to appeal. NGN has 14 days to file an opposition. Hopefully the appeal will be accepted (otherwise he has to move it up the chain). Appeals take on average 12-18 months with new filing of skeleton arguments. No new evidence is allowed typically.

I am not happy about this decision but I am very proud of Johnny for doing what he did and his fan base can only get stronger.
