Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Holy cannoli, someone on Twitter said Amber altered her account of the alleged phone throwing ("I thought he popped my eye out") after Melissa Benoist told her story in November 2019. I had no idea who this girl was (she's also an actress) - if you Google her name, an Instagram video will pop up where she retells in graphic detail the horrific abuse she suffered and it is almost verbatim what Amber has been saying recently.
It kind of spooked me out!

Thank you FlowerBySea for the info above. I looked up Melissa Benoist DV story, and I suggest to you Zoners that you do as well, if you haven't already. It was quite an eye opener!

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
You're welcome, I wasn't sure if I was the last to hear about this!
I went through ET Canada's video on her story again and took some notes for people who don't want to / can't watch the video. Again spoilers, as it is very graphic - note this is not a complete summary, but just some parts that I find very close to how Amber has been phrasing things.
I'm not saying she made everything up after hearing Melissa's account (timeline wouldn't match up), but the descriptions and phrases she uses seem somewhat inspired by parts of it. And I so far only saw a condensed version of what she said in the Instagram video.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
All of Amber's 7 Witness Statements are up on Nick's site, too!
Another time, later in 2013 I remember distinctly sitting on a pink couch in my office and we talked about the violence I had suffered and she sweetly consoled me. I remember it clearly because I used the word ‘victim’ and she got upset and left. It was quite jarring and when we spoke maybe a few days later, when she was dropping something off at my apartment, she said “the right word is ‘survivor’, not ‘victim’”. I was so new to even talking about this and acknowledging it was happening, I hadn’t thought about the language I was using.
Lots of reading to do tonight!
Paragraph 43 does not accuse Johnny of rape, it revolves around a conversation Kate and Amber had:FlowerBySea wrote: ↑Mon Jul 20, 2020 9:48 amI thought Kate James had read about it in Amber's witness statement, which appears to have been released to the press (Nick quoted from it).
"This is my second statement. I make it in response to paragraph 43 only of Amber Heard's Fifth Witness Statement."

I guess she didn't have a problem with her alleged abuser and the person with whom she "feared for her life" being in the same room with her.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Read through some of her WS. It must be the narcissist thing that she cannot admit to being wrong or doing anything wrong (other than being a victim). In some places she is quite clever because what I suspect she's done is exaggerate things - so she talks about his interesting dark side which he definitely has, but she takes it OTT. I was reading along at one point thinking, gosh should I be believing this when she suddenly talks about how nothing is his fault and mentions his childhood. Now the thing I've found so admirable about him is that on the one hand he'll talk about abuse as a child, whilst on the other saying - it's how things were then, yes his mother was the meanest person he ever knew, but that was the circumstances she was in, and no excuse for not respecting her etc. He does the opposite of play the victim.
Also laughable about him not liking women or for them to be independent - I haven't closely followed Vanessa Paradis' career but I certainly always had the impression she toured, made films, modelled - did her own thing in France and he was immensely proud of her. Have I got that wrong? Nonsense to say he doesn't like strong women - he seems to only like strong women. He hardly appears to have encouraged his daughter to be a shrining violet.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
So the bathroom incident for which there was a recording played in her 2016 deposition - where she was escaping .... a room..... etc etc - is now her standing by the door as he fell asleep and yelled ???? So she pushed her way in to stop him choking. Please, please Ms Laws go back to that contradiction.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I'm still reading through yesterday's transcript... They spent an incredibly long time talking about Johnny "taking" her car from her (that Mustang from the Overhaulin' show). During the repairs, she couldn't use it for 3.5 years. They talked about the bills etc., some of which actually made some sense, but isn't relevant to the case at all.
She kept saying Johnny had her driven around by his staff as a means to control her, to check on her whereabouts. But that she disliked it and eventually didn't use his drivers much anymore, she wanted to be more independent. She also emphasized that she was financially independent from Johnny throughout their relationship, which he disliked.
Then, however many hours later:
Q. I thought your evidence was that in fact you were taken places by Mr. Depp's driver?
A. My evidence was that occasionally I was.
Q. Oh, occasionally?
A. Especially at the beginning and then later I managed to assert my need for my own vehicle, but I did not have one. It was still being worked on. So I used a car that had been purchased by Johnny and it was at his Sweetzer Avenue place and eventually I took over it, once we were married.
So to summarize, she didn't have a car for a while and could have easily bought or rented a new one, taken taxis etc. He offered her a free chauffeur and when she wanted her own car, he gave her his Land Rover and that's... Controlling?
Sigh.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
My understanding, Overhaulin' claims the cars are completed in 8 days. Of course, that's tricked out body work not engine work
From the show description IMDB
AH claims she routinely used rental cars and cabs to avoid Paparazzi and intentionally garaged her very recongnizable car
From the show description IMDB
Hollywood starlet Amber Heard's '67 Ford Mustang has been stolen twice and fallen into a state of disrepair. Now thanks to her fiancé Johnny Depp, her dad David C. Heard, and Metal magician Chip Foose, this Pony Car will ride off into the sunset.
