It's such nonsense, we all see through the lies. Heard submitting a fake email (that she probably wrote recently) from 2013 or something as evidence that she never sent to him is absolutely laughable. As usual, like yesterday, the whole thing is centered around drug and alcohol use.

Johnny still seems to maintain his sense of humor, I LOVE him saying that Heard drank several BOTTLES of wine per day, not glasses.

I'm assuming it was from 2013 and in her "email draft" file. And the photos...
Why not just leave him, why continue the relationship?
This was the long scam. She was definitely planning this a long time.

Love that he’s keeping his sense of humor, giggling at his own “I will poop on your chest” joke from 2013 and correcting QC when she says “you have a childish sense of humor” with “sophomoric”.
Seems like he is still in good spirits and confident. He will have been prepped for all this and ready to share painful details. Go Johnny!

Johnny Depp denies slapping ex-wife for laughing at his tattoos

bbc.co.uk
8th July 2020

Johnny Depp has denied he slapped his ex-wife Amber Heard after she laughed at one of his tattoos, as he appeared at a hearing at London's High Court.

Mr Depp, 57, is suing the publisher of the Sun newspaper over an article that referred to him as a "wife beater".

Giving evidence, Mr Depp agreed he had "fallen off the wagon" at the time of the alleged incident but said it was "patently untrue" he had hit Ms Heard.

The Sun has defended the accuracy of the 2018 article.

It had referred to "overwhelming evidence" that Mr Depp attacked Ms Heard, 34, during their relationship - which he strenuously denies.

The actor's action is against the publisher of the Sun - News Group Newspapers (NGN) - and executive editor Dan Wootton.

Ms Heard claims that Mr Depp first hit her in early 2013 - one of 14 separate allegations of domestic violence, all denied by Mr Depp, which are being relied on by NGN in their defence.

NGN's lawyer Sasha Wass QC asked Mr Depp about an alleged incident in March 2013 involving Mr Depp's tattoo which reads "Wino Forever".

It had originally said "Winona Forever" in reference to his relationship with actress Winona Ryder, but he had changed it when they split in 1993.

Ms Wass said Ms Heard had made a joke out of the tattoo at a time when he was drinking heavily after about 160 days of sobriety.

Mr Depp replied: "I don't recall any conversation."

Ms Wass said the actor then slapped his ex-wife across the face. She added: "You slapped her more than once, because after you slapped her the first time, she didn't react, she just eyeballed you, she just stared at you, and that made you more angry and you slapped her again."

Mr Depp answered: "That is patently untrue." When he was told he had slapped he three times in total, Mr Depp said: "I'm sorry but that is not true, you are mistaken."

The barrister then put it to Mr Depp that he "broke down" after coming to his senses and realising what he had done, to which he said: "I didn't hit Ms Heard."

The second day of Mr Depp's cross-examination had begun with the actor being asked whether he was taking cocaine in March 2013.

Mr Depp replied that it was "difficult to recollect if I was taking cocaine in March 2013... it's possible".

Ms Heard was also in court in London for the second day running of the case.

On the first day of the libel case the court heard that Mr Depp denied being violent towards his ex-wife and accused Ms Heard of being violent towards him.

NGN previously tried to have the case thrown out, but Mr Justice Nicol ruled last week the case could go ahead.

The case arose out of the publication of an article on the Sun's website headlined: "Gone Potty: How can JK Rowling be 'genuinely happy' casting wife beater Johnny Depp in the new Fantastic Beasts film?"

The Sun's original article related to allegations made by the actress, who was married to the Pirates of the Caribbean star from 2015 to 2017.

Witnesses including Mr Depp's former partners Vanessa Paradis and Winona Ryder are expected to give evidence via video link, and the hearing is expected to last for three weeks.

Mr Depp, 57, has been Oscar and Bafta-nominated and won a Golden Globe in 2008 for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

"Mating call" :grin2: Johnny doesn't lose his sense of humor, gotta love them using an audio recording of someone seemingly in pain, without metadata as Johnny says, and saying it MUST be him on the plane. Okay?! They're desperate :grin2:

I would be a lot less tense if I could see his demeanor, because I'm not getting positive feelings from this testimony.

I think that it's reasonable not to remember the whole of a flight, from seven years ago when you go on a lot of flights and have a lot of arguments with your girlfriend/wife.

And see this from Nick's twitter - we are getting very short summaries of his long detailed answers.

JD leaves the witness box

QC is now angling for more time for JD in the witness box. Says he gives very full answers and because of his full answers and repetition, she is falling behind.

I live in the UK and the Sun has a long history of peddling lies. So I'm not surprised they stand by their story.

I'm not bothered by the dirt they're digging up. At the present we're hearing their and Heard's sides of the story.
I'm waiting for Johnny's.

Exactly!

Also, Nick Wallis posted a great explanation of British trial process - a good read.

Reading the transcript on Nick Wallis' twitter there are moments where I expect people feel things have gone badly.

Can I appeal to you all to read what Nick has written after the hearing closed, explaining the process. It is really good,

Each side basically tries to unpick the other side's witness statement.

At most the Sun has got today is that JD doesn't remember some things such as how much he was drinking what drugs he may have taken but he was very clear that he would most definitely not have hurt someone and forgotten about it. And he instantly apologised to the court where he didn't remember things properly.

They haven't proved he abused AH - little things of him not remembering stuff seem dramatic (like the box) but they don't actually inform that JD is an abuser.

The Deuters texts have always been the other side's strongest card I felt; and the explanation that they all tried to appease her seems weak when you don't have the history. But remember - we have still to be treated to the tapes, and third party witnesses which put into context AH's personality.

I am now going to brace myself to read the Sun's witness statement because I am betting that recordings and meta data photographs and other things are going to be helpful in the unpicking.

Look at Amber going through the front entrance today then turning around and waving. She must be doing it to mimic Johnny because tthere is certainly no fans there for her.
