And, hopefully, against anyone who repeats her allegations as fact, such as the ACLU, The Sun, etc.

This is wonderful news for him and everyone who loves him. I am so glad. Hopefully now he can really move on and truly put this horrendous nightmare behind him. She needs to get help for her issues and move on with her life, if nothing else for the sake of her child. A truly vile individual, but life has a way of catching up with people. The truth won in the end.

As good as this sounds, it's not over. Until the "media" accepts the fact that she is a liar, etc., they will STILL shill for her. (L'oréal?/ACLU?) She isn't done. She needs to continue smearing JD, as this is the only way she will remain relevant in the headlines. She is NOT done using him yet. (Crying that she can't fulfill her financial obligations for example: $3.5 million to the CHLA.) This has been a long painful journey for JD & for those of us who are legitimate survivors of DV/SA. Until such time that comes to pass, that everyone agrees DV is not gender based, this will continue. We need proper global legislation in place. By all means, if you are a victim, come forward, get help & speak out, but make sure it's the TRUTH. Yes, freedom of speech is FREE, and is protected by the first amendment. It's the lies, you pay for. JD is NOT the first to be accused of a violent act; the Central Park Five & the Lacrosse team come to mind. Lies destroyed everything for them, with no real consequences to the liars. That has to change. Individuals such as Heard, need consequences, not just having to pay out money. A mandatory prison sentence would deter many from making false allegations. Heard should be made an example of righteous justice, not martyr for any issue. Ever.

I agree with you Granna. I don't see her changing at all. Being a victim is a way of life now, how she gets media attention, articles about her, etc. Who knows, maybe that book is still in the offing. And while she irritates me greatly my wrath is directed at the media who continue the lie of Johnny as the perpetrator. Their words, both written and spoken, have permanently changed how I look at mainstream news outlets. No trust or belief in them anymore. Just another crowd of users I need to steer clear of.

I'm glad they have settled. Nice though JD's US legal team seem to be - he doesn't want to spend his time and energy with lawyers. She has trashed her reputation with the people that really matter - the public. She has been exposed as a liar and an abuser.

I don’t understand why Johnny went from $10 million to $1 million. She is not going to go peacefully. I believe to think that would be naive. It makes it look suspicious why the amount was dropped that much.

We have to wait and see how this will turn out - surtain media outlets will still support her... I don't know what to think of it, one way I am glad but ... well, don't know.

The ins. co. probably didn't want to pay it on her behalf. Either way, he is finally free from the Wicked Witch of the West and her freeloading monkeys.

He has been through absolute hell, fiddled by his financial advisers, defamed by the husband beater and losing his mum - I lost mine three years ago, I know how he feels - but what really irks me is that she has gotten away with assaulting him. She should be locked up.

And I have lost all my respect for #metoo after what they said.

Don't know but maybe the ins. co. didn't want to continue with the appeal. Maybe they were advised she had a weak case and she can't afford to pay the fees herself. She sold her home, is now on the run in Europe and she has no real work. I guess nobody really knows her policy limits or how much she might have had to pay out of pocket but JD was never going to see a dime of it anyway. She had the $7 million a year before he filed the VA case against her and she didn't give it to the sick kids like she said she did on live tv, so why would she give any money to JD? He prob couldn't even put a lien against any future earnings because she isn't working and has nothing on the horizon except being a spokesperson for a cosmetics company that doesn't even use her in commercials anymore and an ambassador for the UN, which she threw under the bus, so I doubt they are going to want to work with her anymore. Basically, she screwed herself.
JD practically begged her in the audio tapes to end the divorce peacefully and quietly but she refused and he told her things are going to end very badly for her. Her friends and colleagues told her not to do what she did but she didn't listen to them either. I have absolutely no sympathy for her.
