Thank you Lbock - Rocky Brooks matter settled. Slightly disappointed not to see him handed his arse as JD might say but no doubt sensible to settle.

ditto imo. From a business as usual standpoint, this is probably the way to handle it though. Sort of - "Wanna sue me you golddigging POS?, take a number. If you pay up before your number is called, you get to live, otherwise (prospective scammers) watch and learn.

I predict (more a wish than a prediction that) a short time from now a number of publications in each nation will be simultaneously hammered with a stack of defamation claims (each). A bit of a reverse pile-on. Multiple claims against multiple offenders in multiple jurisdictions (eg Guardian will be defending themselves in the UK and Australia). Every time they "republish the same article" in another jurisdiction they get hammered. And they get to sue for the republication (being pushed from the parent company) in its jurisdiction AND they get sued again in the secondary jurisdiction) for publishing it (anew) there. AND when they try to get it pushed into a single jurisdiction, then shut down that jurisdiction's courts with a blizzard of legal red tape, objections and challenges. Pursue the authors and the publishers. Scorched earth is a tool, slash-and-burn is the process.

In cricketing terms, this is bodyline bowling. In baseball terms, the equivalent would be rather than trying to pitch at waist height over the plate - you aim for the batter's head with enough force to injure or kill them if the don't dodge or hit the ball on the pitcher's terms. And make no apologies for the new rules of engagement.

Maybe a new lawsuit could be dropped each and every day?

This settlement is a good thing, imo, especially with all the nonsense happening in the VA trial and him filming next month. Now Johnny can move on and prepare for his film and frankly, I don't think I can take any more lawsuits for a while.

We know the truth. Johnny’s defense would destroy Brooks’ reputation. He wouldn’t work again. I just wonder why it is stretched out so far to finally record dismissal. What action/nonaction has to happen ?

This is very common, actually, for a matter to settle right before trial. I see it all the time. Most people really don't want to go to trial and it could be that he was waiting for the judgment in the VA case but now he can't use it against JD. It's mostly the lawyers that really want to try a case with a good chance of winning, especially if it is a contingency matter, meaning they get 1/3 (or whatever the agreement is) of whatever they settle the case for or the win in court.

I doubt they could agree on a statement. Rocky wasn't going to admit to what the witness said happened and JD is probably not going to tolerate another joint statement like after the divorce which can be twisted and turned.

Of course the joke is, as many have already pointed out, without the counter-claim AH would not have all this material now being released into the public domain (eg the psych assessments).

I was doing a live stream when Fairfax dropped new documents.
Amber Heard Denied Denied Denied and Docs unsealed (most of them) and Judge Azcarate is done with this case in Fairfax.

My livestream talked a lot about how these insurance companies paid her defense and will they pay the judgement.

Just curious about the insurance companies paying the judgment when they found malice. I read that that they paid her legal bills but they are not paying the judgment. Maybe what I read was wrong?
