Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Well, over here in the UK everyone I've talked to are convinced she's a lying sociopath - one lady told me she gives her the creeps watching her on the stand. I've also seen huge support for Johnny on tumblr, twitter and even youtube. This is a trial and of course the husband beater will try to turn public opinion on to her side, but I think the damage is done.
Don't lose heart. folks.

nydailynews.com has released a mostly excellent article with the following title: "Believe all women? Even Amber Heard? The Johnny Depp lawsuit raises questions about our approach to assault allegations". I live in the UK and I was able to read the article by going to incognito mode.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I was reading comments on articles and SM last night and a lot of people think she's still just a bad actress on the stand still telling lies. We heard her on the tapes going off on JD like a crazy person but when it comes time for her to go on the stand, she shows up with her hair half done and pale make up to look like the poor victim.
I have a really hard time believing she only saw the Wino Forever tattoo when she says she did, given the fact they were already in a loving relationship and she must have seen him shirtless many times. She also said that she knew of JD but really didn't know much about him but she said in past interviews that she had a poster of him on her wall when she was 12 yrs old. What really made me laugh is her saying that she would try to walk away from fights when she was the one who got mad at him for leaving the fights she started.
I'm going to need an aspirin before I watch another eye rolling testimony today. Watching her testify is like watching a really bad film.

Hi, sorry I googled "believe all women" Amber heard and the post appeared. I then copied the link and posted it here but realized it did not work when I clicked on the link posted here. Sorry about it.

She's a hack is what it is. I saw someone saying that Hughes supposedly testified in favor of a woman who shot her husband in his sleep, even though there was no proof of her being abused.

Sorry, can't share it but here's the gist of it:Ingrid 3 wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 7:38 amCan you share it here or send it to me?Yaya wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 5:41 amnydailynews.com has released a mostly excellent article with the following title: "Believe all women? "Unless you happen to live under a rock, you've probably heard of the name Johnny Depp. And if you've heard of him, then you're most likely familiar with his ex-wife, Amber Heard. The former is currently suing the latter over a 2018 op-ed she wrote on the Washington Post. In the explosive piece, Heard claimed that she was a victim of both sexual and domestic abuse. Although Depp was not directly named in the article, his lawyers claim that the Post piece painted him as a violent partner. Depp is suing Heard for defamation, seeking $50 millions in damages. Heard is countersuing Depp for twice that amount. Although the trial is still underway, Depp appears to be winning in the court of public opinion. The question though is why?
Cast your mind back to 2018, the year the op-ed was published. It was the height of the #MeToo movement. The call to "believe women"- encouraging people to accept women's allegations of sexual harassment at face value- had gained momentum. Yes, of course, allegations of abuse, be they sexual or otherwise, should be taken seriously. However, the reflexive call to "Believe women" requires a complete suspension of critical thinking. Moreover, the call asks us to assume that the person accused, almost always a man, is guilty. It also asks us to assume, implicitly or otherwise that all the accusers (usually women) are honest.
Which brings us back to Heard. There is reason to believe that she had been less than honest, and there's reason to believe that she had lied about Depp. Now, let's be clear, Johnny Depp is not a saint. But the actor has had his name dragged through the proverbial mud; he has been ridiculed and condemned". Depp has even been called a "wife-beater" by the Sun. Indeed, Depp has found himself lumped in the same category as despicable men like Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby. Once a leading Hollywood star, he is now a pariah, positively toxic. What happened to the old adage, innocent until proven guilty? It's entirely possible that we have gotten this horribly wrong, and that Johnny Depp is in fact the victim."

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
All she is talking about today is drinking, drugs and benders. Said she took pics to prove to him what happened at times but my question is why did she keep them???
If she were my partner I would be drinking, doing drugs and going on benders too just to be able to tolerate being with her and her screaming and starting physical fights.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
She gives me the creeps, the way she brings Lily Rose and Jack into it and tries to claim she was the perfect step mother, just gross. All this rubbish she is spewing, none of it is concrete evidence of anything. She claims Johnny was strung out on drugs in some photo where he just looked like he was peacefully sleeping in a chair. They’re on the morning break at the moment which gives some breathing space from her disgusting falsehoods.
She has now added sniffing to her performance, get a handkerchief for goodness sake!

She's still such a bad actress. Thank goodness we're not paying any money to watch this but I love that JD is completely ignoring her.Jackslady wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 11:45 amShe gives me the creeps, the way she brings Lily Rose and Jack into it and tries to claim she was the perfect step mother, just gross. Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I’ve got as far as the return from Australia but I just can’t face any more of it at the moment. We are supposed to believe he violated her with a glass bottle, that Dr Kipper gave her the wedding present of a sexy nightdress and Johnny used this to wrap up pieces of meat? Even by her standards these allegations are ludicrous. I feel so sorry for him, I think she is mentally ill and needs help. This is a tissue of well rehearsed lies by a vicious, manipulative liar.
It is horrible to watch, I do warn people, proceed with caution.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Just up for the day and started watching a few highights and recaps before I start on the raw videos. FTR, I am using LegalBytes predominantly, but also flipping between Rekeita Law and TUG/SEC/Stevie. The PopcornedPlanet coverage is quite good too imo and they sometimes have surprise guests - Ami Goodheart (who lives in ECB) and Anne Heche turned up yesterday for a few words. Chris Meltcher also turns up on Popcorned. I have also subscribed to Nick Wallis's newsletter - I find this gives a little perspective and gives a bit of the social aspects. His coverage (newsletter) seems fairly thorough and balanced. I agree that he doesn't seem as convinced of Johnny's innocence as us, but this shows me where problems with convincing the jury may manifest.
I've also been scanning some MSM. Last night I saw stuff in Deadline, Vox and Mary-Sue to mention just a few. Absolutely shill, gutter press and the MSM, whilst figuring out there is something fishy here, still hasn't come artound.
I just watched a recap covering the finger severing incident and I'm afraid she comes across (to me at least) as not just unconvincing, but clearly lying. You can't fake that level of faking. It is so consistently and thoroughly bad I think she may have blown it. Even emotionally dropping all my shields and trying to empathise, its just not there. Simply relating the "events" should elicit some response from me, but nothing.
I've turned into a bit of an emotional pussy the last few years. I fight back tears during episodes of Dr Who (Tennant and Smith at least) and other very fictional things, but Amber left me cold and confused. Even without what we know, she's said he's torn her nighty so her boobs are exposed, thrown her onto the ping-pong table, then torn it off completely. She's slipping on the tiles on the floor, naked, broken glass everywhere yet I've seen a photo of her as Johnny left, in her nighty, skin unmarked, and certainly not lacerated from head to toe. The things she described would have required medical intervention, not a quick shower and a few bandaids. I find her totally, totally unconvincing. Still much more to see though.
