In the UK, there is no jury. This court is in the Queen's bench which means the judge will make the final decision.

It is customary in the UK that when someone claims sexual allegations that their testimony be held in private. However this judge has ruled that only a small portion of her testimony remain private. JD and his attorney will have time to review and rebuttal in front of the judge. With these sort of allegations she will have to produce evidence to back up her claim the burden of proof is on her.
Walden has been made aware of the incident in question. I believe it is the incident that happened in Australia. There is audio tape which has been released, along with witness reports, and depositions. It won't take long for this lie to be dismantled. How soon please remember, that she hired a private investigator to dig up dirt on him. If something is serious as these allegations were ever made, the investigator would have found out about it. She is desperate, she loses this case she pretty well knows that she will lose the case in Virginia.

When I read that she was allowed to give part of her testimony in private I imagined Johnny watching it on a live video link sitting in a room in another part of the court building. And at least one of his lawyers being in the room Ms Heard, her lawyer or lawyers and the judge, allowed to protest and cross examine her, with Johnny perhaps texting his input to his lawyer.
Is that far fetched?
I only know about court cases through books, TV series and movies, so this is only my guess

I think though that it is ridiculous that she is suddenly behaving like a timid Victorian virgin after all that she's being willing to tell the tabloids about over the years ... Or like it is organised crime she's to talk about.

On the otherhand, if she keeps going out the way she does with no gloves or facial masks there is a very good chance she will get the virus. She could even get quarantined or sick and not be able to testify. Anything can happen, is all I am saying.

I understand that she got a flight out to the UK despite the global restrictions. Add not covering up and going out anyway. This looks very much like narcissistic behavior. People with that disorder shirk rules, always. The rules do not apply to them, no matter how many authorities/experts are warning everyone. It's as if she's saying to the world, "Look at me, be strong and brave like me. Don't let some silly 'so-called' little virus stop you from doing what you want, like it has stopped Johnny, the coward! You have a right to do what you want, people!!" I am hoping Johnny and his lawyers are seeing and being able to use her eschewing of the very real global pandemic that has killed so many, as part of their evidence against her. The UK case could have been easily postponed, imo. Given the serious global situation, I really don't understand why they went ahead with it, IF they did or are going to, soon,

I question the statute of limitations. Pretty late in the game to run with this. She will have the burden of proof.

Amber was probably able to get a last minute "ticket" on a private jet, courtesy of Elon Musk. This is how people are bypassing the restrictions. Of course Amber didn't give a thought that she could be a carrier of the virus while Johnny didn't want to jeopardize anyone's health and thought it was more important to delay the case. I totally agree. Amber Heard and her lawyers are getting desperate. Johnny and his lawyers have so much evidence against her, while Amber's evidence against Johnny is non existent. They are desperately throwing out allegations because all they have is allegations. They have been trying and failing to get the case thrown out of court and that did not work. All they have left is to try to make Johnny look bad. Judges and lawyers are too smart to fall for it.

Aren’t all witnesses “third parties”, if not the Plaintiff or the Defendant? AH is not just a witness for the Defense. She is THE witness for the Defense - she and her years-long, ever evolving statements of increasingly horrific lies and wild tales are what NGN and Wooton have been counting on. Now, after creating in jury members’ minds an image of some “vulnerable and intimidated” star witness (AH), Johnny will not even be permitted to be present to watch this farce unfold? He can only “review” his accuser’s new testimony?

And to that point, when is the Plaintiff first made privy to this information? If it’s a new accusation or new evidence, doesn’t it have to be brought forward before the actual trial, in the form of discovery or something? Or does she just get to lob a bombshell lie for the Defense in the midst of the actual proceedings? “Private” proceedings during which a representative member of the press is present but NOT the Plaintiff!

One thing you should keep in mind is that Johnny's lawyers did not object to this private testimony. I think he has excellent lawyers who know what is best for him. I am sure they discussed this with Johnny before they agreed to it. I think we need to have faith in the attorney's that they know the law and that they are looking out for Johnny's best interest.

Please clarify...AH recently flew to England to give this private testimony? Or she recently flew to England for some reason and the testimony is to occur later when the trial commences?

No she didn't fly to England. She claimed - at a hearing just before the shut down and right before the case was due - that she would do whatever it took to get there. At great risk to her own health you understand.

In my humble opinion - she said that knowing full well the case could not go ahead because of COVID 19. I think the Sun lawyers looked bad claiming to want to go ahead - no public safety interest and knowing one of JD's senior legal team was in isolation.

I think what has been missing from the reporting on her giving her evidence in private is that she wanted all her testimony to be private - and that is what JD's team objected to quite rightly and the judge overruled. Agree it was smart to remain neutral over a small proportion of the evidence.

Incredible to use the excuse of further public vilification. We all know why the public has vilified her and it has zero to do with sexism, misogyny or hero worship of JD.

Some how, some way when travel was restricted, she was able to get a ticket to go court last time...right. Her lawyer was either lying, knowing this was not going to happen, or someone (probably Elon Musk or The Sun) got her a private jet.
