The article talks about wine collecting and says that investing $30k/month isn't all that much among sophisticated oenophiles. Some bottles are worth a great deal. An LA wine merchant said JD used to spend more per month and that he was a serious, knowledgable, and sophisticated collector. The article went on to describe collecting wine as a form of investment that often pays off very well. There was a lot of information about investing in wine and most of the article has nothing to do with Johnny.Sweeney Todd wrote:Anyone got full access to this article?

I had not, either, but apparently quite a few people do. It certainly puts a whole different light on what Johnny was doing.ibbi 3 wrote:Thank you FAN Never thought of wine as an investment.

All very sad. Have been awaiting the next Pirates. Still want to see Johnny in action despite what has been said and written. Only Johnny knows the real truth about everything that has happened in recent years/months. And I do not think I really want to know nor should I. He is the master of his own fate. If he was mislead whose fault is it really. People are people, they make good choices and bad choices.
I just want to see good ole Captain Jack again.
Johnny you rock and rock in the saddle that suits you.

They were making Beer 6000 yrs ago and some spirits survived in the Pyramids, Those have to be worth millions or just plain priceless. So I can see him selling off his investment and not drinking any of it. Especially when table wine can be just as tasty and just as inebriating.
I'll drink to that. But give me a bottle of mellow Jack(Daniels or Sparrow who cares) and I will be just fine!

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Hopefully, this awesome new Pirate movie will get him back on track financially. I believe Johnny does indeed overspend and he probably didn't pay the attention to his finances the way he should have. He is truly guilty of being too generous to his friends and family and so giving and caring to so many charities and people in need, his handlers may not even know all he has given to so many. In my eyes he is a hero and I love him to death because of this situation he is in, he will come out of all of it, but he wont stop giving and caring as he has always done..You rock Johnny!!!!

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Why has Johnny or more likely his lawyers agreed to this:
I would think, that they shouldn't "help" TMG in any way whatsoever by removing evidence of what the firm has done So can anybody explain why that has been done - or am I misunderstanding the word 'redacted' ?Waldman countered in a statement to PEOPLE, saying that evidence supporting Depp has been redacted from the complaint at the request of TMG attorneys Joel and Robert Mandel.

It's difficult to say for sure. I'm guessing that both sides are negotiating a settlement of some sort.meeps wrote:Why has Johnny or more likely his lawyers agreed to this:

They are probably trying to narrow the scope of each complaint and focus on the allegations they feel strongly about and have the most evidence to win a verdict.
Sort of like....we'll remove this if you remove that. Legal negotiations al a Jack Sparrow.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I understood that Johnny's lawyer in the last complaint filed, he redacted from the claims of TMG, adding evidence against TMG itselfmeeps wrote:Why has Johnny or more likely his lawyers agreed to this:

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Sorry, well, it means that TMG required with the judge that a document or part of the lawsuit against them be redacted, who requires that normally claims for security or privacy reasons.meeps wrote:Yes, you might be right too I just wish it was a bit more clearly formulated ...
