Re: The Lawsuits Thread

I think the whole Amber debacle has been an awakening for Johnny. I am not sure how much of this financial thing could have continued on until more and more damage was done if the divorce hadn't forced his legal team to make an accounting. It has to be incredibly difficult to grow up poor and then h...

Re: The Lawsuits Thread

And all of this mess without a written contract? Is that right? What reputable company deals with this sort of financial empire with nothing in writing? Johnny came from nothing and on some level I think his inability to comprehend the wealth and complications can be understood and forgiven. But a m...

Re: The Lawsuits Thread

I am sure that most of us can't even imagine the kind of finances Johnny's world entails. I am happy if I can pay the electric bill each month when it arrives and have money left for groceries and a little extra for fun. Millions of dollars would be beyond my comprehension, and I am sure it has been...

Re: Johnny about the book; Ik, Jan Cremer

I wish we had a list of Johnny's books like the one that was shared of David Bowie's favorites. Thanks for sharing, ibbi.

Re: ONBC Next Book Selections

I vote for Mountain Shadow. Shantaram is one of the best books I ever read; based on the strength of that book, I think Mountain Shadow promises to be a good one.

Possible Neil Gaiman project

This reminds me of Johnny's interest in Good Omens, although who knows if it will actually come to pass?

Re: Why does Craig Brown hope that Johnny Depp's new film is a flop?

:applause2: Not much longer to wait, I need to start reading the book soon. Intellectual property is such a complicated and fearsome topic. I think I see both sides of this, but I probably lean more to thinking that if nothing he wrote is used in the film, he shouldn't get paid for contributing to t...

Re: A Birthday Project update for 2014

I hope we will get some sort of word about the 2014 unofficial project. I included a note with my donation to tell them it was in honor of Johnny's birthday.

Re: Photobucket Question

I successfully uploaded 90-plus photos to a Photobucket album today. However, they still upload in a rather random order. I really do not like that development since I put my photos in the order I want them before I upload. For instance, the birthday candle is lit, then it is blown out, then the cak...

Thank you Part Time Poet and Theresa for giving us a chance to show our love and appreciation to Johnny in a tangible way. It warms my heart, and I hope it warms his, to know how this wonderful man inspires us to be better and better than we were before we knew him.

I hope they don't continue to send mail. It upsets me when an organization uses money I meant to go toward the cause to solicit more money from me; it seems to happen with every organization I donate to unless I use cash and sign myself as "anonymous." :-/ But very nice to be acknowledged and receiv...

Re: Announcing the Zone's 2009 Birthday Project!

When I followed the link given in part-time poet's announcement and I clicked to look at pictures of the hospital, I got a warning that the website was a "reported attack site", one that steals personal information. :-? I certainly hope that was an error!
