A special holiday gift for Deppheads in region 1–Ann Oldenburg at USA TODAY writes that Tim Burton’s film of SWEENEY TODD, which stars Johnny Depp as the notorious demon barber of Fleet Street, will be opening in wide release on Christmas Day. Previously, the film was scheduled for only limited release at Christmas (necessary to qualify for awards season), with wide release following in January. Great news! Oldenburg also debuts a new SWEENEY TODD publicity photo by Leah Gallo, showing Johnny Depp as Sweeney Todd and Helena Bonham Carter as his partner-in-crime, Mrs. Lovett.
