Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame member, National Book Award winner, and 21st-century Renaissance woman Patti Smith took the stage at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles for a two-hour concert on Friday with a rocking band that included a couple of famous guest artists: Johnny Depp on guitar and Flea, of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, on bass. Smith’s set list mixed classics with new songs from her recently released album Banga; several audience-shot videos with surprisingly good audio are available on You Tube.
