Infinitum Nihil developing television series for Lifetime cable network

Johnny Depp’s production company, Infinitum Nihil, is branching out into television! Infinitum Nihil and GK-TV, the television division of GK Films, are developing a drama series for Lifetime, according to Television Business International’s Vision website. “The period drama follows the story of William Wilkerson, the founder of the Hollywood Reporter. Wilkerson, who founded the trade paper in 1930 after losing a lot of money in the Wall Street crash, also owned The Flamingo Hotel and nightclub Ciro’s and eventually became indebted to the mafia as a result of his compulsive gambling,” the website reports. Wilkerson “eventually became the conduit between the mob and Hollywood,” says GK-TV’s Craig Cegielski.

The new series is is being written and produced by Stargate executive producer Rob Cooper. Johnny Depp is not attached to star, but he may make a cameo appearance, TBIVision reports.
