Universal Pictures will present the European premiere of Michael Mann’s gangster epic Public Enemies, starring Johnny Depp as the legendary bank robber John Dillinger, in London on Monday, June 29th. The film will screen at the Empire in Leicester Square. Johnny Depp, director Michael Mann, and Marion Cotillard, who plays Dillinger’s girlfriend Billie Frechette, are scheduled to attend the London premiere and bring “some 30s gangster glamour to the West End,” according to the press release; however, Christian Bale, who plays FBI Agent Melvin Purvis, is not expected to attend.

Primera Hora reports that well-wishers who gathered near the site of filming “surprised” the actor with banners bearing birthday greetings and congratulations.
