Hunter S. Thompson featured in October 4th issue of ROLLING STONE

The new issue of ROLLING STONE, dated October 4, 2007, features Hunter S. Thompson on the cover and contains a lengthy excerpt from the upcoming oral biography of Hunter by Jann Wenner and Corey Seymour. Mr. Wenner was Hunter’s editor in the early days at ROLLING STONE and knew him very well. The article is called “Growing Up Gonzo:A Portrait of Hunter S. Thompson as a Young Man.” Among the many pictures included in the article is one of Hunter relaxing on the beach in Puerto Rico during the time he was a reporter for a San Juan newspaper: Hunter’s experiences in San Juan provided the inspiration for his novel THE RUM DIARY, which Johnny Depp plans to film with director Bruce Robinson some day soon.
