It’s December, and that means awards season is upon us . . . Disney started the season with a bang, placing Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow on the cover of Friday’s DAILY VARIETY Golden Globes preview issue (to see a larger view of the cover, click HERE). Disney did not neglect the upcoming Oscar race, however, placing DEAD MAN’S CHEST on the cover of the weekly VARIETY’s “Eye on the Oscars” preview issue on Friday as well. That cover features the famous shot of Captain Jack fleeing through the surf; to see it, click HERE.
