Calling Wilder’s performance “brilliant but subtle,” Johnny concedes feeling his usual concern about whether he has done justice to the role he was hired to play. He told reporter Horn, “I don’t want to do any damage to this great character Roald Dahl has created and have his widow say, ‘Johnny Depp has ruined it!’ “
