For your viewing pleasure, here’s the first photo of Johnny Depp in costume as the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s version of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, which is currently filming. We haven’t yet been able to verify the picture’s authenticity from an official Disney or Burton source, but it certainly looks like a true Burton vision–pale skin, wild hair (carrot red, this time), fabulous costume, and deeply shadowed eyes. And no, your eyes are not deceiving you . . . the Mad Hatter’s eyes are not Johnny Depp’s true chocolate brown, but green.
