"We'll do SHANTARAM next year," Mira Nair promises, regarding delayed Johnny Depp film

In a recent interview with Lisa Tsering of India-West, director Mira Nair–who will soon begin filming AMELIA with Hilary Swank as Amelia Earhart–answered a question about her project with Johnny Depp, SHANTARAM, which was scheduled to start filming this month, but was postponed by the writers’ strike. Nair assured the reporter that SHANTARAM is “still a priority” and that the epic film will be made. “After AMELIA’s done, I’ll definitely get back to SHANTARAM,” the director told India-West. “We’ll do SHANTARAM next year.” Great news–we are very eager to see SHANTARAM underway!
