Exciting news–there will be a three-day press junket in London to publicize the upcoming release of Tim Burton’s film of the Stephen Sondheim musical SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET, starring Johnny Depp! The junket will take place from November 23rd through November 25th . . . which coincides with the Thanksgiving holiday weekend for Deppheads in the U.S. Our advice–do your holiday shopping early so you can avoid the crush at the mall, and enjoy the weekend watching new Johnny Depp pictures and interviews arrive from London.
A U.S. press junket is tentatively scheduled for the following weekend, Saturday, December 1st and Sunday, December 2nd in Los Angeles, but those dates have not been confirmed yet. Hopefully this will allow a SWEENEY TODD screening (or two) for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, as the Golden Globes nomination ballots are due by December 10th.
