TV ALERT–Johnny Depp on GOOD MORNING AMERICA on Wednesday, July 5th

Johnny Depp will appear on GOOD MORNING AMERICA on Wednesday, July 5th, in an interview taped in London. (He had been scheduled to appear on GOOD MORNING AMERICA last Friday, but then his New York trip was cancelled.) We will be delighted to see Johnny chat a little bit about that pirate movie he has opening this week. Thanks to DeepinDepp for the TV alert, which she heard from Here’s To You at JohnnyDeppFan . . . . Now that Johnny has kept his obligation to appear on GOOD MORNING AMERICA, we’re anxiously waiting to see a rescheduled date for the David Letterman show.

BREAKING NEWS–new photos of Johnny Depp in London July 4th

Having signed hundreds of autographs for fans at the European premiere of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN’S CHEST in Leicester Square yesterday, Johnny Depp ventured out into central London today, July 4, where he was snapped by the paparazzi as he–what else?–signed autographs . . . . Johnny was wearing his orange Gonzo shirt, his aviator sunglasses, and his grey fedora. His next public event is the DEAD MAN’S CHEST premiere in Paris on Thursday, July 6th, at the Cinema Gaumont Marignan on the Champs Elysees. That premiere starts fashionably late, with Johnny scheduled to receive the grande medaille de vermeil de la Ville de Paris at 8:15 p.m. The Zone thanks emma for the information on the Paris premiere, and AnaMaria for the new London photos. THE LIBERTINE is released on DVD in region 1

The many fans in North America who were denied an opportunity to see Johnny Depp’s mesmerizing performance as the second Earl of Rochester at the local movie house can finally see Laurence Dunmore’s THE LIBERTINE, as the film comes out on DVD today. The region 1 DVD includes a commentary track by the director, ten deleted scenes, and “Capturing THE LIBERTINE,” the making-of feature by the Brownlee Brothers that was not included on the UK release. THE LIBERTINE is available from Amazon.com for $14.99 plus shipping; you can order a copy HERE.

If you are interested in movie soundtracks, the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN’S CHEST soundtrack is also available today. A spirited debate is already underway regarding whether Hans Zimmer’s score for DEAD MAN’S CHEST equals Klaus Badelt’s memorable music for POTC: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL. Amazon has the new soundtrack available for $9.99 plus shipping; you can find the listing HERE. Thanks to emma and mytreasure for the news.
