Prolific composer Hans Zimmer to score PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 2 and 3~~

Walt Disney Pictures confirmed today that Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer will write the score for both upcoming PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN sequels. Part 2, DEAD MAN’S CHEST, and the still-unsubtitled POTC 3, begin shooting next month. Zimmer produced his protege Klaus Badelt’s score for PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL, so he knows the waters well. Zimmer and Badelt have collaborated on several films, including GLADIATOR, for which Badelt contributed additional music to Zimmer’s score. Their efforts earned an Oscar nomination. Zimmer has scored more than 100 films in his distinguished career. He has received seven Oscar nominations, and won the Oscar for his score for the Disney classic, THE LION KING.
